All are welcome - TaKeTiNa is uniquely designed to cater for all levels of musical/rhythmic experience including beginners.
TaKeTiNa is a unique way of learning which uses rhythm/singing to deliver musical and personal benefits. Below is some information about the process just to whet your appetite!
Using body percussion and singing, TaKeTiNa immerses the participant in rhythm. It is a group process designed to take people both deeper into rhythm and deeper into themselves. Practising TaKeTiNa allows participants to gain a stronger sense of rhythmic orientation and experience the fulfilment of being carried along by rhythm. The process was developed by Austrian master percussionist, Reinhardt Flatischler. It is designed to make the power of rhythm accessible to all, regardless of musical experience.
In the TaKeTiNa circle, all participants will experience times of being
'in' the rhythm and times of being 'out'. Both experiences are as important as each other in this dynamic process and can become a mirror for where we
hold on and where we let go. In the TaKeTiNa process, powerful musical
and personal learning takes place through both active and passive forms
of participation. All participants are supported to go at their own pace, carefully listening to their body's messages.
Regular TaKeTiNa practise can bring: profound inner silence and stillness; musical creativity; rhythmic-body awareness; and rhythmic competence in all styles of music.
In TaKeTiNa we learn to relax into this more expanded state, past and
future, yes and no, right and wrong, can all dissolve into profound
stillness and inner silence.
"TaKeTiNa develops your ability to stay in the present moment while delivering a musical benefit as well - a fabulous process, highly recommended"
Brian Martin, Bellingen
